X5 (with Navi) radio antenna location?!

i've been searching around the internet for the last couple days for an answer to this, and have found nothing. maybe one of you can help...

i'm trying to install a satalite radio in an X5 (with navigation). i can't seem to find the FM radio antenna. i looked in the back left hand area for an antenna, and all i found was what i think was the bluetooth antenna. it didnt seem to interupt the radio signal. anyone know where this connection is? thanks everyone!

did u check out the homepage? there are tons of srticles concerning Satellite Radio installs.

i checked the homepage and did some searching here, and in the bimmerfest forums. there was no info on location of the navigation radio antenna. i wasn't sure if someone had any experience with this. thanks for the heads-up though.

Just for curiosity, why are you trying to find the FM antenna? It is not associated with the sat radio antenna installation.

the fm modulator goes through the factory fm antenna to send the signal for the sat radio. i tried using a wireless one, but the reception is horrible. the sat radio antenna is already hooked up. i'm just trying to impove the sound quality. thanks.

shouldn't the FM antenna be connected at the radio module near the battery?

OK, you got a sat radio system with an FM modulator! Now I understand better. I used the Blitzsafe/Terk system for XM radio, that is direct-wired into the stereo, and I wasn't thinking about the other.

that's a cool piece. the only problem is it only works with vehicles without the navigation.

Don't know the year of your X5... but.. if your sat radio system has a line out (any size) can't you just install an Aux adapter? Cheap and easy and far better than FM modulation.

it's a 2003 x5. i don't know the version of navigation it is. is the fm antenna integrated with the navi?
