Ice Link in 2005 X5

Right - I hope I'm not being stupid here....

Just got my Ice Link Plus......and have a 2005 X5 - they've given me the Quadlock connection - but I can't work out where I connect the CD connectors into anywhere. I can't find instructions anywhere for this installation....I'm normally ok at these things.

I understand the radio is in the back, but can't for the life of me figure this out..........

Any help appreciated..

I think you can dowload the instructions from the dension web site! The plugs go in the plugs that go into the chager thus so no plugs in the changer ie bypassed well that is the best I can explain anyone else do better?

Or at least punctuate?

It plugs int the empty changer connectors. They might be way back in that corner and down...

X5 Ice Link

I've just got one Quadlock bunch of cables - two big blocks - with one lead that heads off to be connected to an extension cable to go to the front with the iPod......

There is no obvious way of connecting the standard CD leads into anywhere.....I think ?!!!

This is making my head hurt - I've installed Roadpilots, Laser Detectors in the grille, jasser jammers, GPS etc etc in the past - just this simple thing is stumping me right now - I'm sure It will be fine in the am....!

Or I've got the wrong lead.....

Wrong Lead

OK - confusion over it seems. It looks like my supplier ESSENTIAL IPOD - sent me the wrong leads........

Oh well - my only spare weekend day I've had for 3 months - gone....maybe in December eh?

Im in the UK and got the quadlock with my Icelink Plus as well. For some reason our installs dont connect direct to the cd changing 3 and 6 pin wires (can someone in the US source me one of these as Im told they will work on the UK X5).

The quadlock connects next to the radio tuner which is buried right down under the spare wheel - you have to remove the triangular brace and a plastic cover and you will find the quadlock connecter there. My car has sat nav/dsp so I had to rewire the original quadlock so I still had sound for tv/radio! You then have to run the 4m extension back to where your Ipod is located. My Icelink only had firmware v2.03 so needless to say it worked for about 30 mins and then stopped alltogether.

If any one can point me in the direction where I can get the latest firmware and a cable which runs from the icelink direct to the 3 and 6 pin cd cable could they email me on alan @ johnewright.com.

Cheers Guys

Overseas it seems that only the radio kits are offered - you need the trunk interface cable. Keep in mind while the radio interface can be used on NAV vehicles, it usually disables the bluetooth and driving direction audio. We offer the trunk interface cables seperately if needed.

I replied to your PM, let me know if you have any further questions.
