Does pointing subs toward rear door or up towards roof matter

I've always had cars with subs that pointed towards the trunk. So without the enclosed truck of an X5 would it be benifical or non benificial if the subs pointed up towards the roof? would it matter or should they point towards the rear door?

It seems like the air to move would be the same.

Let me know your thoughts

Thanks

I would be inclined to face it to the rear.

You could get a movable box and find the sweet spot exactly.

Low frequency sound is non-directional. So, the direction of the speakers is not that critical.

It can definitely affect the sound though.

The reason I am saying to face it to the rear is because the pressure waves could disperse in one general direction (out of the rear floor area) vs up towards the ceiling and down to the floor area before moving forward.

Hard to describe I suppose but experience with this sort of thing says it does matter, just not as much as high frequency speakers.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
In the back of similar size and space vehicles I always had better sound pointing them towards the back. That provides the cleanest bass sound up front from my personal experience.
