BMW Rear Seat DVD and aux input.

I bought the X cpo. It came with RSE DVD and Aux input. Aux3 was distorted thru car speakers and crystal clear on headphones.

With BMW 3 ring headphone adapter. I tried multiple sources, cd players,ps3 etc. I put a scope on the signal out to Aux input. Impedance mismatch. The signal was over amplified. I put a 10k ohm resistor on each signal wire of the rca output and now the sound is no longer overdriven and very clear thru car speakers. Has anyone else noticed that with the RSE DVD or aux input installs?

I now have to trace out the dvd audio signal wires on aux1 in the din cable. The DVD sound is overly distorted thru the car speakers to and crystal clear thru headphones.

Finally I popped a home theater test DVDs. It did the sound check thru car speakers and headphones
and thru car speakers the channels were mismatched, headphones were fine. Could bmw have installed my aux input incorrectly? Or does this sound a like a homebrew adapter by previous owner, does the OEM input have resistors in it. X was dealers car.. Im the first title holder. Its under warranty should I fix it or should I let them take it apart ? I scheduled an appointment cause the remote sensor to right side monitor hardly works..

Can you post some pictures? I am unclear as to what setup you actually have.

I wonder if there is an amplified output connected to a low level input?

WDS is here.

Update on this.. X just got back from the dealer on friday. they had it for a month.. they didnt fix the reverse audio channels on aux 1 and aux 3 through car speakers ,or fix the impedance mismatch/ overdriven output signal, but they did put in 2 new monitors, so they fixed the remote issue. and put new ground filter in and new aux cable in and got a new game controller. Looks like Im a trace these wires out in the in connector and reverse them or trace them out to the back of the mid/cd player and reverse them. Left to right and add some more 10 k resistors to the dvd ouptut signal. it was funny the new monitors didnt come with aux 3 enabled and they called me asking me how to enable it and told me that in 2007 bmw canabalized the plug and stop making aux 3... BS... hold down menu button for 8 seconds hidden menu comes up. enable aux 3.
