Hi, i have a 2004 X5 with no navigation, just as stock radio. How do i know if my car has bluetooth? I have the "SOS" button. If i push the button, bmw assist shows up on the radio, but i dont hear any ringing. How can i tell. how do i know if i have a mic? please help. thanks

Most likely, you do not have Bluetooth. BT was not available until the 2005 model year telematics contul unit modules.
If you have SOS, most likely you have a TCU and microphone. If you want to know for sure, just pop open the little sunroof panel and visually look for a mic behind the mic grill. Likewise, open the trunk and look for the TCU-- it should be located on the brackets above the CD changer. You probably have an earlier TCU without Bluetooth. If you want to add BT, you just need to update to a newer TCU module and install the BT antenna and cable. Scroll down... there is an entire BT forum dedicated to this upgrade.
