Question about creating Playlists that audio system can read
I have a 2008 BMW X5. It has the Ipod and USB adapter option, with the receptacles for both in the center console. I am using a flash drive with MP3 music files, plugged in to the USB port. When the AUX input is selected and that drive is selected, it plays through the audio system speakers. Also, the Artist or Song Title information will appear on the Nav screen when I select each of those. I can select and play individual songs by either the artist or song title information, but I have about 9GB of music on that one flash drive, and I can’t find a way to create a Playlist that the system can read.
I have Playlists created in Windows Media Player and copied to the same flash drive as the music. Those are in the Playlists directory. When I select the Playlists directory to read a Playlist, the system is not able to find any of the Playlists. I just get a message that the system is unable to read any information.
Must the Playlists be in some format other than what Windows Media Player creates? If so, what format do I have to use, and what program can create those Playlists that the system can read? These are simply MP3 files on a flash drive, and not an Ipod.
Also, if any of you see an obvious error that I am making, I would appreciate any lessons on that!
I have used the Search function and looked for this information on the site, and I have not been able to find anything that helps. Any information would be appreciated.
