I still have problems with mine but am awaiting the new BMW adapter board to see if that cures the problem.

When it works it's good kit.

I have mine hidden away in the trunk for the last 5 months.

I use the 5 playlist to define 5 moods of music, which I can swith between, within each playlists I have 100s tunes all in a random mix.

I use it pretty much as 'personal' radio station.

I would suggest that trying to navigate to a particular song/tune using the steering wheel/radio control is near enough impossible, but can be achieved in a real 'music emergency'.

If you really wany to navigate around your music then I would suggest you need the Ipod mounting around the sterring wheel.....but please not when your driving around anywhere near me!

Hope this helps

You use yours very similar to how I use mine. Another trick I have found helpful is if I'm looking for a particular song then I keep hitting the ^ button until I get to a song by that artist. Then I turn off the RND (random) mode and I can quickly get to the song by that artist that I am looking for.

I don't really need to search for particular songs.. as long as I can do genre / artist selection easily from the wheel I think its fine for me. Now I just need to settle on a mounting position. Tom G. suggests using the rear connection since I have BT and he feels it will offer more mounting options. Still seems like it would be easier to re-wire the radio connector than to have to route from the back.. but Tom G. seems to be the expert here. The center console bin seems like the best location.

I mounted mine in the center console. It is totally out of sight so I don't have to remove it all the time. It is a little awkward to get at but it is a most convenient place.
