One free year of Sirius?

I am in the process of installing a Sirius receiver in my '03 X5. My brother found a guy on eBay who claims the BMW receiver he is selling comes with one free year of service. Sounds questionable to me. I think you get a free year with Sirius activation in a new BMW but I need to know if there is a way to get a free year when I activate the receiver I purchased from the dealer.

Sirius is offering some rebates on equipment but BMW is not listed and I can't check for a rebate without a UPC symbol which the factory box does not have.

Any thoughts?

Mark
