Icelink hot

I just installed the Icelink + in my 2006 X5 with digital DSP and the Icelink module gets pretty hot. Hot enough that if you hold it in your hand with a firm squeeze you have to put it down after about 5 seconds due to the heat.

Normal?

Normal? Not sure.

Typical of every Icelink we ever install here? Yes.

I don't think that 64-bit micro sees that heat shrink as a heat sink. I think that the engineer figured you can spell "heat sink" by leaving two letters out of "heat shrink".

Wait...the engineer was Hungarian... that can't be it...

This is normal, there is a heatsink on the processor chip within the module.
