Question Suggestions to mount iPhone 4S above NAV radio for music and using it as nav on E53

My wife is looking to mount her iPhone 4S above her existing NAV radio, possibly over the left vent, in order to use the iPhone for GPS nav and music input as well as be charged from that location. Any suggestions on what to use to do this?

She suggested using the ProClip Center Mount 853656 ($30) to mount over the left vent just above the stock NAV radio and
Adjustable Holder with Tilt Swivel and Pass-Through Connector with horizontal support ($80)

I have the Intravee II setup that is now being re-installed with a new firmware update. It was flaky when I bought it a couple of years ago, so took it out. I think with a cleaner mount setup this will be received well versus going out and buying a new Mediabridge for the added bluetooth connectivity (not needed).

With the currently installed NAV system, it's slow, has outdated maps, doesn't have Sat radio, so ultimately the iPhone 4S would be a much more modern music and nav interface.

Any good suggestions other mounts to cover this need? Or strong feeling about mediabridge vs using the Intravee setup? If you have pics, please add them of your setup as well. Thanks!

my suggestion, and this doesnt answer your question. Get her a dice mediabridge. use BT to stream music to the radio. You'll get, Ipod, bluetooth and satellite (if you want). The she can buy a $5 vent mount

I suggest you give the mounting of any device in the area of the front windshield a second thought.
Fines in California amount to about $200.00

This won't be mounted from the windshield so there should not be any issues with being illegal and being fined with a mount that is in front of the left vent just above the nav unit like the Proclip:

Turns out I still had this Intravee II unit to try again and my wife does't have any strong desire for bluetooth.. So for now I'll give that a try versus the Mediabridge, though that was a very good suggestion that I almost pulled the trigger on.

Any other suggestions for a better mount to allow for a 4S with a non-bumper case on it?

Bluetooth is a good consideration if one plans to make cell phone calls correct?

Good point, Quicksilver. Right now I think she prefers having her Jambra on the visor connect to the phone as it keeps the mic closer to her but especially the speakers close to her head for clearer calls than coming through the vehicle's speakers.
