When you see that it means that you are on the beta version of V20.1. Does your NAV display "T20.10" at startup before it switches to "==BMW=="? If so then you are on the earliest version of the nav system, which was quickly updated by BMW due to many bugs and problems.

The MK4 units were shipped with 4-1/10 from the factory at the start (from 09/02 to 10/02) but this version had some known bugs and therefore BMW put the text "T20.10" as a dealer reminder to upgrade with the V20.1 CD once it became available.

This 4-1/10 software for MK4 has never been released on any CDs since it was a temporary beta software that BMW had to rush out in order to support the all new (at the time) DVD-based MkIV that was being introduced on all i-bus based 2003 models starting from 09/02 production.

The V20.1 CD will install 4-1/12 and remove the text "T20.10" at the start up screen. The only software version that has this text is the beta version of 4-1/10 that was used at the factory for a short period while finishing the 4-1/12 that was released on the V20.1 CD.

You should definately upgrade. I'd go to V26 :-)

:xoutpost: I hope you are staying warm there in Moscow. I've been reading that the temps there are down in the -25 F range
