Once in GPS-Nav system, press the right knob on the Nav screen to enter the Nav menu and rotate the knob to select "Instruction" and then HOLD the KNOB until the you see a "red-cross" over the speaker logo.....Then the voice nav instructions will be off.

But, it resets to voice guidance the next time you start the X5 back up right? This is not a permanent setting.

I also have another problem: if I turn up the cd volume, the navi volume will also be very high, and the last thing I need is my car to shout at me (I already have a wife ). Isn't there a way to set an 'absolute' volume for the navi? I recall seeing something like that on one of the forums, but I can't seem to find it now... |
