MKIV nav position indicator getting itself lost

Hi
I have just upgraded my Nav Computer from a MKIII to a MKIV and when driving around the position indicator on the map will be accurate but then as i approach a junction or roundabout it seems to shoot ahead by 50 yards or so and lose itself for a while so if i turn left it will carry on for a while then turn left and "drive" across parallel to where i am but not on the road. Then it wakes up again and all is well. This was not a problem when i was using the MKIII computer. Has anyone had this problem and has anyone got any ideas as to what problem is.
John
