problem with Navi OS
I downloaded Navi OS V24 for my BMW, and was unable to burn it to a CD with my Nero. The file format was .rar, and Nero does not recgonize it. I read bimmernav.com site and it mentioned download the file and open with Winzip. I did that too and Winzip did not recognize the file either. How to fix the problem anyone knows? Thanks in advance. rar is a file archive type - similar to zip.
Download a copy of WINRAR (do a google search) and you will be able to open the archive. Depending on what the archive contains will depend on the application that can read and burn the image. You CAN convert with UltraISO. Hope this helps. |

RAR is another form of file compression. If you use a program such as TugZIP or WinRAR you should be able to get to the files you need. I use TugZIP myself (http://tugzip.com/) - a great free program!!
I'm pretty sure that the files in the .rar file will need to be burned using CloneCD in order to create your OS CD.

Thanks trapdoor and UCrewX5. It makes more sense to me now. I see CloneCD files somewhere in bimmernav.com. I will try to do it again.

the file after downloading and unraring is an .nrg file. When I went to make a CD image using Alchol 120% i didn't work. the file turns out to be an audio file for some reason. i played it just for kicks. it sounds like a scratchy record.

.nrg is a file type used by a prorgam called Nero, I believe.

I believe UltraISO will read this and convert to Alcohol if needed. |
