X3 Onboard Monitor/Sat Nav Screen Help !

Hi

Need some help a friend of mine can get hold of a genuine bmw x3 monitor/sat nav screen (the one that bmw fit into your dash if you order your x3 with sat nav..)

My x3 has just got the storage holder with the flip up lid, does anybody know how easy it would be to remove this and replace it with the above monitor unit?

Also there is a wiring harness attached to the monitor unit, is there anywhere on my x3 where this would plug into ?

i know i wont get sat/nav , but would i get power and a display of anykind ?
and could i attach a dvd player myself to it ?

any help or advice cheers....
