MK4 Nav DVD

Hi all!

I am a newbe to this site and for readin some past posts this site looks very informative. I am currently serving in the U.S Army and stationed here in Germany last summer I dropped my order in for my 2006 X5 4.4i well it arrived 2 days before Christmas and it was well worth the 6 month wait.

Here is my problem, I purchased the vehicle here and had it shipped over, well it came with the US DVD but it does me no good here. i know that this is not the right thing to do but a friend of mine recently purchased a 2006 5 series sedan. I let him burn a copy of my stateside disk and he bruned me a copy of his disk. The disk he burnt for me works fine in his system but not in mine. I never found out if my disk worked in his vehilce thought as he had it shipped to the states yesterday.

I know what the answer is going to be but will ask anyway are the disks interchangeable between the diffrent series and the x series? or am I just going to have to shell out the cash.

The disks for i-bus based vehicles (such as the current generation X5) are different then the disks for MOST-bus based vehicles (such as the new 5 series and 7 series) and they are not interchangable.
