X5 Navigation Wiring Harness
I am in the process of adding a Navigation System to my 06 X5. Does anyone know the part number for the main wiring harness needed to do this retro fit for that year?

Thanks UcrewX5. I went to this site and entered that part number (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...65&fg=20&hl=39) and is only good to 4/2002. Are all the retro fit wiring harness good for all years?

The only difference I can think of is due to the changes in DSP. Starting with model year 2003 most X5's come with an analog DSP setup that no longer requires the use of a coax cable to the CD changer. Other than that, it should pretty much be the same.

Thanks UCrewX5.. I am just trying to make sure that I order the correct cable. If BMW would stop changing part numbers this would be alot easier.

UcrewX5, I have completed the navigation retrofit this weekend. I found that the 06 X5 has a lot of unfore seen surprises. but it workes great. A few items that I founds was , 1. The retro fit wiring harness only have ONE phone mute wire but 2 is needed so you must pick this wire (white/green) up athe phone module and run it to the radio. 2. The New harness does not have wires for the CD player so you must run these. You must us a old style to new style antenna adaptor. If your x5 has bmw assist...well now it gets fun because the bmw assist uses a GPS antenna and there is no where to mount the new one. You must modify the under the spoiler (cut, drill). I wanted to have the cd option at a later date so for my Ipod I ran video for movies and I split the audio, one for the AUX input on the radio and other for movies. Total time about 14 hrs..
