" display out of sync ?"

Hi wondered if you guys can help a brit in need out. I have recently bought a 2001 4.4i s euro X5 that has been flood damaged to rear whilst putting a boat in the water. After some real headscratching i have got the self leveling suspension working. I have now started to repair audio tv nav. I have replaced becker audio unit and Video control unit with correct part no second hand parts. Everthing works great Radio Rds CD autochanger etc but the display looks fuzzy similar to an untuned tv picture. I have read a few other posts and believe that the 4:3 factory display may be "out of sync " with the replacement video unit. The new unit has the exact same part no as the old unit but does appear to have a newer software from what i can make out.
Does anybody know how to re Sync if this is the problem

Thanks

Finchy

Have you checked in the settings menu that the TV receiver is set for England. If not, it will do all sorts of strange things to the display!

Bear with me, I'm trying to do this from memory! When in TV mode, click the lower right button and the channel selection menu will appear, press it again and an expended menu will appear where you can select the country.

Have you tried pulling the negative battery cable for 2 minutes? I had to do that when I had my 4x3 replaced by my 16x9.

Did as you said but had no joy, i'm starting to think the video unit is shafted. When i put it into television mode it constantly searches i will not stop at any of the channels. For the brief second that you see the channel the picture is good so i know its recieving signal.
