because you have a copy of CD or DVD, make a Iso Image and burn... Fly copy not work....
and you need actual CD or DVD disk map.. older not work fine.

I could be wrong, but I didn't think the Range Rover DVD will work in the BMW MkIV

What was the date of the CD? I would tend to think that any CD older than 2003 might not work.

The LED does blink when there is drive activity or i-bus traffic, so that doesn't sound abnormal.

Without seeing it in person it's tough for me to know if the unit is working properly or not. If you can't get it working in your vehicle then it might be wise to pass on it.
