Screen Brightness Settings

G'day Guys
I wonder if someone with a Satnav System could check something for me?
When I go into the main screen menu, then "SET", then select the screen
brightness, I adjust it to Full, the screen goes bright, but when I turn off the car, then restart the car the screen has defaulted back to 50%.
I have gone into the hidden service menu, and altered the contrast to 10,
which does hold.
Have I got a duff head unit or does everybody elses default to 50% on a ignition restart?

Thanks
