I dont think it will work. Its only for the MK4 system.

What happens when you insert v27 in a MKIII ? I tried it AND IT KILLED MY UNIT! Can anybody help with getting it up and running again? There is no screen, no power light, but the drive is spinning and constantly trying to read the disc. ALSO YOU CANNOT EJECT THE DISC PERIOD!!!! I had to open up the case and, eventually safely remove the disc. H E L P

I think ur screwed man. The firmware is nothing to mess with.... Your gonna have to buy a new unit or upgrade...
