Europe Maps?
I know there are updates available as to the firmware, freely on the net but wondered whether the maps for Europe are available similarly to the updates - ie on here or other forums? Or do you/i have to go via ebay / BMW to get the actual disc? I have the standard UK Map only in my cooper s with ver 27.1 running with perspective enabled. Mines a DVD based system btw. Any pointers as to where to get the Europe version would be appreciated.

Sorry, BMW or Navteq are your only choices.

Or fleabay if you want a badly written pirated copy with a botched Italian Autovelox (speed camera database) added in!
You can also pick up original Europe 2006-2 DVD's but they are few and far between (watch out for the very small print from Italian and German sellers stating its a copy). |

There are six on E bay at the moment used and new. Going for about 90 to 120 quid in last few days.
There is another company that advertise as well for disc based nav something like VODA or the like I remember seeing it searching on E bay. Dont get a copy you will get stitched. IMO go for the OEM 2006-01 lot cheaper more of them and little difference. |

Try eMule.
Plenty of maps there, most of them CD-based but also some DVD-based. |

Try searching for navteq bmw. Your 2004 Mini should be equipped with the DVD-based MkIV navigation computer, so basically you'll need the high version (file size is in excess of 2.4 GB). which contains the entire Europe. As an alternative you can get the country-specific, CD-based versions; they are smaller in size (300 - 600 MB, depending on the country you're looking for) but although meant for the older MkII or MkIII computer will work perfectly on a MkIV. Hope this helps. Cheers, jj |
