East Europe Maps

Hello X5 World

Just got my 3.0d X5 3 weeks ago. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. However, as an American living in Europe, particularly with travel in Eastern Europe, are there ANY Maps for Hungary? Would any knock-off map work out there with Nav unit? I have an 2005 model and need any info

Sorry. A little research revealed that the most you can get with an OEM disk are the major roads and cities of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. These 2 countries are to be found either on the Central Europe CD or the Europe DVD.

For the newer Opel/Vauxhall cars, there appears to be an Eastern Europe CD with sufficient coverage of the two above mentioned countries plus the capitals of Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Greece but I don't believe it will work on your BMW (older Opel models had a compatible navigation system as BMW, but I fear the newest ones don't). Anyway if you can get ahold of any disk out of a recent Opel you can give it a try. If it works then you can confidently buy the Eastern Europe CD.

jjporter is right but I really doubt the opel nav will work. I would suggest you go to the stealer and try to get someone to sell you a beta version. I use the Poland beta version and everytime I drive out of Poland, I just slip in the Europe disk. The beta disk cost me $200. Bear in mind, they are not allowed to sell the disk, so you might have to be convinsing
