v28 Questions/Issues

yesterday i downloaded and installed v28. the initial install, i assume,
i burned v28 straight from megaupload and didn't hack the splash screen.
i also noticed that i lost perspective. so, i downgraded to v26 final cut;
which allowed me to be able to switch to perspective mode using either
view. i then burned and installed an image of v28 w/ custom splash screen
using the navboot file that came w/ v28. once installed, i had my custom
splash screen, but still, no perspective. so, i again downgraded to v26
final cut. at this point, i took the v26 final cut navboot w/ custom splash
screen and inserted it into the v28 image using UltraISO. SUCCESS, sorta!
i now had, i think, v28 w/ custom splash screen and perspective mode for
both views. the part that i am now confused about is this; i lost AUX
Ventilation. is this where i pull the fuse for the OBC and cluster?

thanks in advance,
brian

on my initial upgrade, i thought that i could go to the view menu
and just click on Pointing North twice or Travel Direction twice.
neither time did that work. that's when i downgraded back to the
v26_3d_final_cut image. i then burned another v28 image using
the navboot file from my v26_3d_final_cut image. again, i now
have perspective in both modes (pointing north and travel direction),
but i lost Aux Ventilation.

If you've used the navboot file from V26 then I think you've installed V26.

From what you say you've been using the hacked V26 and never used V27 (or 27.1) which has the 'proper' Perspective implementation. As previously suggested, did you enable perspective in the hidden nav config menu with the 'pure' V28?

Yikes !! Don't mix navboots from older versions to newer versions ... goodness knows what will happen. Do your edits only with the latest navboot !

TQ2K - the fuse trick; that involves pulling 2 fuses from the rear
and 1 from the glovebox, right? also, does it matter if the X is
running or not?

***i found the fuse thread here.***

i updated the software again last night using the navboot from v28.
i still do not have my Aux. Ventilation. what's weird though, i notice
if i hit the BC button to cycle thru the OBC display on the gauge cluster,
it shows the 2 timers that i had set for Aux. Ventilation.

oh yeah, i forgot. i did find the perspective menu and it is now enabled.
although, i must admint, i do like how v26_3d_final_cut allowed users to
use perspective mode in either Driving Direction or Pointing North. does
anyone know if this is possible w/ the new v28?

I've just installed v28 from v24, no prblems but can't find out how to get perspective view.

I've tried holding down the select button in SET mode which was how I thought the hidden menu was acessed but diddly swat.

No perspective settings anywhere hidden or otherwise.

Anyone any ideas?

Hold down the Menu button while in the settings menu.
