I'm pretty damn sure an MkIV is an MkIV, just might need mounting hardware, because it's not racked up in a 7 series the way it is in the X.

The nav drive from an E65/E66 7-series will NOT work in the X5. However the nav drive from an e38 7-series will work just fine in the X5.

A MkIV from an e38, e39, e46, e53, or e83 should all work in the X5, with the exception of a MkIV from an e46 with the small monochrome screen.

At first I didn't catch that it was an 03 7 series (745 shoulda tipped me off). I think vehicles with I-Drive aren't compatible with the X5.
