iDrive knob for non iDrive cars

Hello All.

I've been searching for a piece of hardware that I think could be interesting for non-iDrive cars like our X3, but couldn't find it anywhere...

What about an iDrive alike knob sitting at the middle console, duplicating the features of the knob's radio? I would be interested in something like that for our X3 - we don't use the middle can-holder, and it would be a better place to jog a knob than the one at the radio, specially for the driver.

The radio's knob is connected exclusively via I-BUS signals, and these are easily replicate through any other I-BUS connected device. The navigation system is fully usable just with the knob (left, right, press), thus a second knob in the middle console would be perfect for the driver.

Have you ever seen such a device like this anywhere? Is anyone willing to manufacture them ?

Check out this thread. I though that the idea was most excellent.

OK, this time I think that I got the correct link, and I will include it in the post, at the same time.

Sorry.
