Sounds like the image has been corupted somehow, and this has hung the dvd nav drive.

First off, dont panic. The NAV system might seem as if it shot, but its designed to always boot from a NAV OS disk if one is present in the drive. Therefore, try burning the disk again.

Download the v29 zip file again and you will need to make sure it's interpreted as a Mode2 iso file. The .mdf file is a text description of what goes inside the .mds.

Use imgburn to burn a new image (using the .mds file) and burn at 1x speed, on a quality CD or DVD.

Simply insert your newly burnt disk into the drive and the NAV computer should boot from it ok.

Exclamation still need help

Thanks!

So it opened her up to eject the cd.
Put it back and ran V29 it all went well untill 99% the nav gave an error and cd popped out.

So nav does a reset, I think HE let me try V28, but the unit will not accept the CD, as soon as I put it in the motor will start and push it back???

Any solutions for this???

Thanks again!

Edwin

Edwin, It defiantly sounds like a corrupted v29 OS CD, you need to disconnect the power to the unit and then try again, this should fix the cd poping out without reading (sounds like the nav drive has hung in a unstable state).

Here is what I do when I upgrade.

Burn at 1x speed, on good quaility cd.

When its finished writing your new firmware cd,
Goto the car open the drivers door,
Goto the dvd nav computer wait for the red led on the drive to go out,
Then press eject on drive,
Eject the map disc,
Switch ign to pos 1, leave door open.
Insert firmware disc into drive, follow instruction on nav screen.
Wait (approx 6 mins) till sat nav asks to eject cd and reboot.
Eject cd,
Confirm reboot.

Do not swich off ignition or close the door when doing the upgrade.

hope this helps.

P.S The old blue screen is the TV modules backup display driver, this means that the nav comuter has hung.

Exclamation still not solved

CCFJ1!

This is not the issue!
I can't get the CD in at all!
When I put it in motor starts to run and keeps pushing the cd out.

Basicly I can't get the disk IN!

Hope you have some advice on this?!

Thanks again!

Edwin

It sounds like there is already a cd in??

I had this exact problem a while back swapping from one o/s to another and I purely forgot to remove the cd.

just to be clear

CD is out! It just doesn't want a new one. (see above post)
I have reversed the power so it will eat the cd, but it still is not reading it??

Thanks all!

One method to clear the memory of the nav unit is to disconnect the battery and "touch" the battery leads togeter.

Do a search for that, I think you had to hold them together for 20 secs or something, seems to clear a lot of issues on BM's.

Exclamation will try

it's strange that when I power the motor directly it will take the disk!
When I reverse power it spits it out.
So all is working.

BUT when I put it in the car it does not read the disk it just jams some and the spits it out.
the motor keeps running and does not accept the disk.
so I go back inside put power on the motor it eats the disk, disk holder goes down to lock the disk.

But again it spits it out???!

I am now clue less!!!

Question new info

So I pop it in the car connect it and first thing the disk holder goes up.
It then slowly starts to push disk out (again slowly, like lack of power)
When it gets it out it stops for about 3 sec. then it slarts running at normal speed, again only out! so I can't put one in.

If I push harder it will go in but it will be pushed out again!
