Nav Screen

I have a 05 4.4. The nav screen in the map mode shows the car moving and the map is stationary until the car is out of range and then it turns the page. Is that normal or do I have to have it checked?

In the Mercedes and Lexus nav system, the map moves and the car is fixed.

If you select direction of travel, it will show a moving map.

If Point North is selected, the car moves.

Isn't it just a old firmware version? A friend of mine with a 3-series E46 (same system as yours and mines on the X3) used to have v24 on his, and told me that the map would also be static and the car/point would move. Recently I've upgraded his car to v28 and now the map moves in all three map types (north, direction up, perspective), just like on my v27.

Look for the v28 firmware thread and try to upgrade your navi...

You are on V24. The latest version for the MkIV is V28, which will show as 4-1/80.

thanks UCrewX5 I upgraded to the V28 using the download from megaupload. I will see if it resolves my problem.

Is there a site to downlad the navteq map or do I have to purchase it. I have the 2004-2 at this time.

If there are sites to download the maps you won't find them here. You can order them directly from navteq by going to http://navteq.com or you can also find them on eBay.
