You should be able to go backwards. However, when you do it will put your nav drive from feet into yards.

to work in my MK4 system (yes I know the reader is *extremely* picky). So I have decided to let the forum folk have them... PM me your mailing address and I'll send it on to you, of course I'll be very interested in knowing if your Navs recognize the CDRs or not. If someone want to analyze the CDRs, feel free too...

Your problem is the PC burning software you are using. Today I burnt a modified V28 onto a cheap supermarket (Asda) CD-R. I re-loaded my previous V27 then installed the modified V28 with no problems. It's your media - not your Nav Computer

No Luck... Here's my ISO files...

I'm offering my modified ISO files up for inspection. They have the "MPower, == M ==" logo as the boot splash (see splash logos thread). If anyone can successfully load 27.1 and/or v28 OK from the ISOs, I'd like to hear about it.Files for v27.1 and v28 respectively can be had at http://www.megaupload.com/?d=L0LF63VW and http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q0NW3FUC |

I downloaded your ISO file. I then burnt it & it would not run in my BMW. I then tried to examine the file on my PC & the all important "Navboot" file could not be opened. It doesn't work mate. Your files are corrupt. Here's my solution:
1. Use UltraISO to create an ISO image of V28 on your HDD. 2. Make a direct copy using "My Computer" (NOT an ISO image!!!) of your original V28 onto your HDD. 3. Download & install "Navtweak V1" from the X5World site. 4. Open Navtweak & replace the BMW Logo with your "M" logo within your saved (NOT ISO) copy of V28. 5. Open UltraISO & replace the BMW Logo with the "M" GIF file from your directly saved V28. 6. Save the whole compilation to your HDD - use V28.1 as the saved file name... 7. Use Alcohol 120% (or UltraISO's burn feature - if it works) to burn the new saved ISO image to a CD-R or CD-RW. If this doesn't work then either the disks you are using are rubbish (unlikely) or either your CD burner has had it or your burning software is corrupted. Hope this will work for you

The .gif itself is embedded in the navboot, there is no separate .gif anywhere on the original image/CD... |
