X5 business Radio/Cassette a what if?

KiwiJochen has a faulty BM54 I sent him that he might be able to fix for me.

Meanwhile I am using my old BM24 but sitting beside me I have a BMW Business Radio Cassette unit it came attached to a Mid I bought from Ebay!

This is a flat pin unit and I have the Round pin to flat pin adapter already for when I get a working BM54

So I thought what if I plug this into my car instead of the BM24

I assume this radio cassette uses the K/Ibus but I wonder what might happen

At first I thought it would use a different address but as I have already used the Mid as a rear seat secondary controller in my car and that controls the BM24 just fine I assume this radio must use the same address

I guess the cassette in this unit and the one behind my nav screen might argue with each other! if both are connected!

I am sort of curious the Radio Cassette has the part number 6512 6914 867 on it does any one know if this will work or if functionality wise this radio has for example a better quality amp in it than the bm24?

I am assuming the wiring connections are identical

Hi Keith,

Try it and see - I don't think you'll harm anything
