GPS Problem

all,
I'm having trouble getting my GPS to acquire a signal correctly. I've gone into the settings and found the following things that might be of interest. I've also let my car sit in an open parking lot for about 30 minutes, but that didn't help.

Under the "hidden" menu for the NAV unit, I see the following:

Lat: = 0
Long: = 0
Satellites: = 8
GPS Status: = Reception Interference

Does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks... josh

one last question...
I did the Sirius upgrade a long time ago and just finally got around to getting things (the
Nav
part) working. It's possible I've got something plugged in wrong. Does anyone have a picture of what the GPS antenna should look like? It's the very thin coax looking cable, correct? It's it straight plug on the
nav
side, not angled, right?

thanks again... josh

Hello Josh,

that's happen to me twice so far.
In addition to "Reception Interference" message I do see that GPS ver is 000 so my understanding is that for some reason it doesn't boot up correctly. No way to recover it during the trip - damn.. why BMW has not put a "reset" function accessible from the maintenance menu??
Btw, everything get fine after a car stop (>30min).

ps: my 3 serie is equipped with mkIV running 27.1

Cheers!

As said after a car stop everything get working back.
Don't know if this glitch is caused by some loose cable.

I'm still keeping my *finger crossed*

Btw, did you check that also in your case the version reported is 0000 ?

Cheers.
