X5 2006 with TV/Phone no Sat Nav.
Guys just bought a MK3 from a member from this board,attached is a drawing at what I think i need to do for this installation.... install items 1-5(The cable harness attached is not the one which goes all the way to the screen is it?)....after installation is it a matter of using navcoder to code it correctly for Australia? the MK3 is coming from the US.BTW the link to navcoder 1.2 is not working for me can someone confirm.http://www.bimmerboard.com/members/k...n/NavCoder.zip

This is a great X5 navigation retrofit write up with parts lists and pictures. That harness in reference #5 is just the trunk adapter that connects the car's main wiring harness to the nav computer.

The major parts are the MK3 (which you already have), the display screen, the main navigation wiring harness, and a Board Monitor radio module. Then, you will need a bunch of little parts like brackets, screws, GPS antenna, etc.

You may not need to recode, but I would recommend it. Get it turned on and running first, and then make a re-code decision.

If you have DSP, then you probably will need to get your DSP amp recoded. However, Kiwi's nav coder will not code a DSP amp yet, so that will requre a dealer trip.

Well I havent received my MK3 as yet but have sucessfully installed my aerial and cabling all ready to go thanks to this site......just one more question? once i plugin the MK3 will the option(navigation) automatically appear on my computer screen? or do I require to code it first?is there any set procedures I need to do.....I did do a search and found lots of install stuff which has helped me but nothing on powering it up.

Once you unplug the video lead (blue plug) from TV tuner and into nav unit it'll fire up. Also you have to connect the burgundy plug and the cable from nav to TV tuner
Make sure battery is disconnected when fitting everything.

Should work without any problems

The only connectors I have at the end where I plug into the nav unit is a blue, burgundy and aerial connector is this right?hope so all the cable have been run.
