Upgraded to V29 - perspective on, but not active

Hi, like the title says, i upgraded to the V29 sw version, and now i can't get the perspective mode working again.

It's activated in the hidden menu, so that can't be the problem. Could it be that i have to drive the car for a while "to let it sink in" or something like that ?

Anyone got this problem?

Have you also remembered to activate it in the GPS Menu? - "GPS Navigation" - "Map Positioning" - then activate "Perspective"?

No problem. I only frequent this forum to try to help people when I can. Glad to be of help. The easiest solutions are the most frustrating if you don't know how!

Hi all

I have a MK4 with an original 2007-1 high Europe playing, but I can't enable perspective mode.

Under 'Map Positioning' I only have the options of 'direction of travel' or 'pointing north' (or something like that).

I've been told I have v28 firmware so what am I doing wrong?

To activate 3D Perspective:

Push the "MENU" button to get to the main menu.

1. Scroll to the "SET" or "SETTINGS" menu selection & push the knob to select it.
2. Hold in the "MENU" button for about 10 seconds to then enter the "GPS Service Menu".
3. Scroll beyond the bottom to a 2nd page where you can then select & activate the "Perspective" option.
4. Go back to the main GPS menu & select "GPS Navigation", "Map Positioning", then select "Perspective"......

Thanks Winkle - you can now chalk up another happy customer.

I thought I'd read this section thoroughly!

No Problems. It is beyond BMW dealers in the UK or anywhere else in the world to understand the technicalities of what is required. Parts Dept staff have not a clue as to the disk for yor Nav System. Pretty disgusting really.... For you & everybody else, I would suggest you print out my instructions & stick 'em in the glove compartment, because every time you download & update your Nav Computer with a new OS it will re-set to BMW defaults & you will need to re-activate the Perspective Mode from scratch - by which time you will have forgotten how to do it!......

And if you or anybody on the forum wants a "backup" copy of the 2007-1 High Europe map DVD with the full UK Speed Camera database visually displayed (No Audio I'm afraid as it is impossible with the current file structures), with instructions for £25 (Inc P&P) just PM me. The "High" Europe DVD will NOT work in BMW's fitted with I-Drive.. If you have I-Drive you require the "Professional" Map DVD - Be warned! I will even throw in the latest V29.1 OS CD FOC - but be aware that the only noticable change over V27.1/V28 is the addition of the Dutch language - & that requires a visit (at extreme cost) to your local BMW dealer to re-code the Nav Computer, unless you have Navcoder 2.0.17 (Thanks Kiwijochen), a laptop & IBus interface cables.
