Hi Guys,
here's my question, is it possible to have a background image appear on our Navigation screen? Im sure most of you are familiar with Windows Media Player. Would it be possible to somehow incorporate "plug-ins" similar to what Windows Media Player has when playing music? It would be fantastic if one could play CD discs and have the same type of visualzation as the Windows Media Player displays during music play back. I have my media player set on the "Alchemy Theme" and it looks wild when music plays, and the PC screen shows reactions to the music from the Alchemy plug-in theme. If one could have this type of image appear on their NAV screen, it would look amazing during night time driving, as your music plays in your car.
Any thoughts on the possibility of doing such a things or is it not possible?

And/or as someone else has mentioned, how about all the OBC data that is shown individually in test modes being shown on the nav screen simultaneously? So you could have oil/water temps, liters/hr, left/right gas tank, RPMs, batt. voltage, true speed.

Totally possible.

All you have to do is:
1. Reverse engineer the operating system
2. Alter the software
3. Re-compile and test

Are you up to the task?

You have to be a very good C++ programmer used to working on embedded systems..... with lots of diagnostic tools at your disposal... like de-compilers....etc etc

Tip: If you are not a good software programmer, it may be out of your league... I know it's way out of mine!!

I think realistically the answer is no, although you could look at a carputer option, where you connect the ibus to a pc/laptop/carputer and run one of the nav clone type apps.

That way you can have the "plug-ins" because you would be using the Windows Media Player, and being conected via the ibus, you could also display the info from the board monitor.
