Faulty guidance w/ MK4

Hi guys! Heard that you are the ones to talk to when encountering Nav issues! Mine is acting up! The thing is that Its always behind about 20 metres so when you do a turn it ends up in the pastures next to nothing! My question is; is there a way to calibrate the apparatus so that it "knows" its location and stop miscalculating all the time?
What I've learned about my Nav sys. is that its been retrofitted and when I got It my cursor on the screen wasn't moving and we came to the conclusion that the GPS receiver was missing so I bought one off Ebay, aftermarket I pressume. So there's some factors involved here and your more experienced oppinions on the matter at hand seem more trustworthy, so I thought i'd run it by you guys before running down to the $tealer$hip!
