Thank you very much the information given here was fantastic.

Emailed the part nos to the local BMW dealers in Melbourne saved myself $100 just by doing that.

Fitted the parts exactly as per your description, worked perfectly.

Good to hear, after you get the damned GPS antenna fitted and cable routed it is all pretty logical, quick & easy!

My further experience with my install was that I unknowingly had a damaged CD Map disc. This manifested in the system locking up after usually 30 minutes of use and typically about 2 klm from your destination, and displaying a Error/Can't Read CD message.

I was worried that the fault was the in the MK IV unit itself, anway, I replaced the Map CD with a new disc and the unit has been 100% perfect ever since.
