sat nav mk111 problems

any advice please my sat nav shows i am miles away from where i actually am it shows as if im driving in the sea or on grass have tried to reset no luck. i have checked in the hidden screen and my gps satelite reads 0 gps status reads RECEPTION INTERF i dont know if thats what it should read, car is currently in the drive with ingnition key turned to 1 and the gyro reads range between 02485 to 02503

Some questions to think about....
Have you checked your GPS antenna connections? Are you near any tall buildings? Do you have an updated NAV OS version and updated map CD?
Have you recently disconnected your battery? If so, have you driven around several miles since then?

When was the last time it worked, and have you made any changes to your car's electrics since then? Good luck.

RECEPTION INTERFmeans the GPS antenna is plugged in but the GPS is getting no signal.
Ensure you have nothing metallic on your rear parcel tray blocking the GPS signals from your antenna, make sure you haven't fitted metallic window tintng recently. On a sedan, the GPS antenna is on the rear parcel tray, left hand side, under the rear window. If you have some other vehicle - cabriolet, X5 etc, let us know, and I'll tell you where the antenna is.
If the antenna is unobstructed, but still no signal, then the antenna will be faulty and need to be replaced.

thanks for replies its a mini coopers have checked all connections seems fine any idea how difficult it is to replace antenna
