The off road navigation in the RR is only available on a MKIII Nav computer. I believe the RR Mk III's are locked so you can't (easily) update them to later software versions. You could install a RR Mk III in an X5 and get off road navigation, but most people go the other way as the advantage of a MK IV is much greater than the off road capability (which just allows you to enter way points to go between).

Range Rover MK3 Software

Did any of you manage to get a copy of the Nav Software for the Range Rover Mk3? I found a copy before Christmas but after burning it using every conceivable iteration of modes/forms etc it does not work. Even tried to read it in my Mk4 Dvd nav, for test purposes, and it says files are missing. In the range rover it just says incorrect nav software cd inserted. If anyone knows where to find a copy of the range rover MK3 nav software I would be most grateful. The nav is currently inoperable and its not my car!!! That'll teach me for experimenting!! Thanks
