Nav Blank

Hi everyone i have a 2001 740 IL the other day i had a new amp put in for a little more bass then a week later the nav screen is blank and the music cuts out after like 2 min.
i tired to reinstall the software V.28 but no luck it jsut ejects the cd after a few min
i have mk3 navcpu
is the cpu dead or do i need to reinstall the software a differnt way

Sounds like the new amp is drawing too much current, and the Nav is cutting out as a result.

Where did the power pick up (for the amp) come from?

It should come from the barttery direct and use the switched supply from the radio just to "switch" the amp on (not supply power to the amp).

I had same problem I know you might need to recode amp if you install but I had same problem and I replaced amp and now music is fine but nav screen is still blank. I think my nav drive might be dead because i also tried making a v28 cd but mine doesn't do anything after I put it in...it doesn't eject itself. The fact that your drive is ejecting it's v28 disc tells me the drive is good but maybe the "nav brain" is bad. What file did you use and what "brain" does it have?
