To enable the feature of the ZIP code you need the OS software of the Navi version 27 (I think, or higher). The feature does not depend on the DVD version of the roadmap.

I have been using SW V28 and now 29.1.....and the Post(ZIP) code does work but i cannot enter the house number / name.

The house number feature used to work; it was quite cool as when you get to the road / location the car satnav says 'the destination is on your right / left' when you are outside the house.

Any one else find that you cannot enter the house number / name....or is it just me who has been using this feature in the older versions?

The house number data may not exist on your map disc (try another map disc), or

Your map disc may be damaged and unreadable for the data for that street (try another disc), or

You may have found a software bug (report it to BMW, try using an older version software)

works Ok with mine (2007-2), used it last week and it was fine, and as you say it says 'the destination is on your right / left'.

If you are running v29 then it sounds like the map disc has an error, is it a modded for speed cameras? what speed did you write it at.

What I bet is happening is you have an incomplete street.. For example the house number you want is on East Henderson and you put Henderson or you are on a town border and the town is wrong..

My system is so picky that it will automatically change the address to the nearest one it thinks you want and sends you across town in the wrong direction.. So now I am real careful I check that it took...

I've just had a thought, you did put the town and street in first, yes?

I think you can only look for a house number once the street has been filled in, (as the disc has no way of knowing where you want to go, by just a house number).

Just a thought.
