Someone has got hold of a UK Postcodes POI file and used something like 'pimp' to install it on the DVD.

What's interesting is that their must be a maximum size llimitation on IDX or URL files otherwise why do the 26 letter menu breakdown? A better approach would be to search the whole thing rather than first letter.

What's even more interesting is that the 26 PIO files would actually fit on the DVD in the first place! 26M Residential and 10M Business at last count.

I wonder where the base postcode / long / lat data was acquired from? The UK Postcode Address File (PAF) is heavily encrypted to prevent exploding the whole file in this way. TomTom ov2 maybe? Any ideas?

Offcourse no copy. It's orginal one, once used so not sealed anymore.
