Question BMW Nav Question and Advice.

Hi,

I and thank you for reading my post.

Ok, I have a 99 BMW, 328i, Auto, 4 Doors, I have a regular car tape player, with no navigation or nothing.

Here is what I would like to ask:

I am thinking about buying an AVIC D3 and replace my radio with it.

Will I still be able to use the controls (volume up and down, station search, etc) with the Avic aftermarket stuff?

Do you guys know a cheap place where I can a bezel, since it doesn’t “fit”?

After taking the temperature control panel off to install the Avic, how do I set my temperature? Does the avic d3 have Temperature settings?

Is there a place where I can find an adapter to plug in the Avic and avoid cutting wires? (sort of plug and play)

Since my car did not come with Nav Installed, I also thought about buying the widescreen monitor (OEM BMW) with a CD, can I just use that without the Nav. System?

What would be the best solution? Avic or OEM?

What are all the parts I need to get to install the OWE (I would like to have, Radio, CD, Navigation System)

One last question, I have an Verizon Wireless Phone (with Bluetooth) my bmw had a “phone button” on the steering wheel. Do I have to buy the OEM phone system or is there a way I can use the internal BMW phone system with my Bluetooth phone?

Thank you very much. (I know it’s a lot of questions, but I appreciate any response)

You need to visit E46Fanatics.com. You'll have much more success there with retrofitting. And let the search button be your friend.
Good luck,
Ed
