Aftermarket GPS Recommendation

I'm hopeful that this topic is placed in the correct area, if not - mods feel free to move it to the appropriate place.

I'm looking for a multi-purpose, portable GPS unit to be used in my '04 X5, my motorcycles (no off-roading) and my boat. Does such a unit exist and if so, what is it?

Thanks in advance for advice.

I'm looking at portable GPS for my wife's car too. I really like the Garmin nuvi 6xx or 7xx series. But would be interested in hearing from others too.

Hard to find something for boat and road, that being said I opted for a hand held GPS that is really meant for the water but I loaded street maps on it and it works great on the road...no voice prompts just bells though. I got the Garmin GPSmap 76Cx and I love it. It comes with all kinds of cool bells and whistles if you have a boat take a serious look at this one.

I'm a GPS junkie. I have a Nuvi 680, a Garmin 60CSx, and a Forerunner 301 running GPS.

I love the nuvi in my other cars and while traveling in rental cars.
I love the 60CSx while hiking and it makes a very good marine GPS, too.
Of course the forerunner is the only way to go when running.

Each of these are very well suited to their purpose. BUT, none of them are very good when attempted to be used for another purpose. The Nuvi is great on roads, but terrible for marine because it doesn't have elevation or natural markers. The 60CSx is great for hiking and okay for marine, but the screen is too small to use for car travel and doesn't provide the ease of use of the nuvi.

Any Garmin Nuvi. They can be used in car/motorcycle or handheld, but not marine use. I'd buy a dedicated marine GPS unit.
