Nav system not powering off ??

trying to upgrade my mk2 to a mk4

thing is i cannot disconnect the battery because the power light on the mk2 is always on when i open the boot !! obviously the ignition is out and the car is has been left sitting there for hours doing nothing. So how come my nav computer is on How do you power these things down ...anyone know

would be grateful for some help so i can get on with installing teh new item

Opening the boot will turn the nav on.

Try opening the boot, and leave it open for a few minutes while you watch the nav. With the boot open, doors closed, and key out of the ignition, the nav should turn back off within a couple of minutes.
