v.29.1 MK4 firmware, with modified logo, download here:

Hello,

I claim no credit, the art and method came from this forum. I added the three white lines on each side (from the original BMW 4), and integrated it with v.29.1.

The Bimmerboard.com logo in the picture is only there because the image is hosted there -- just a little plug for my "home" forum, it is not actually part of the splash logo.

Use at your own risk. It loaded fine on my MK4. This ISO is saved in Mode 1, and will not work with MK3 (which requires Mode 2 - Thanks Jochen).

Enjoy...

Question V29.1 Loading Issues

James - I tried to download this software onto my MK4 and when I inserted the CD I get a message on the screen that says "Incorrect CD." Did I do something wrong in the download & burn process? I used Roxio to burn and did it in Mode 1 as you suggested. Any insight would help.

I'm not sure what to tell you. This was the same ISO image I used to update mine. You can try using ImgBurn or UltraISO. MagicISO will allow you to burn in Mode 2, but you shouldn't have to do that. Start with UltraISO--that was what I used. Good luck.

Works just fine for me. But, anyone noticed corrupted graphic when you get the blue "congestion ahead" TMC warning screen pop up in navigation mode? Noticed this the other day, should have shown queuing cars but just a mess of coloured dots.

I found this right at the start of the 'pimp my startup screen' hysteria. I assume it only affects us UK users as we use the TMC facility.

I had a play around with differing sized startup images, but it seems that anything larger than the original graphic will corrupt one or many (depending how big the image is) TMC Icons.

I gave up and just use the std screen - was a bit concerned that something else may be getting corrupted too.......

Skins - do you use TMC? Are the graphics corrupted for you when you get a traffic warning?

Thanks, Steve

I don't think I have traffic master, is that what TMC is?

I've hardly used it yet, but I'll let you know if I get corrupted graphics.

One thing, though, is I can't search by post code. Do I have to activate this function? I have a 2007-1 high europe DVD in there.

TMC is "Traffic Message Channel". Just read your car's handbook. Store "Classic FM" on your stereo then enable RDS & TP. Bloody hell - you will now have TPC enabeled (Green display)!! Who the hell are you to try to take the piss out of me?

You have your answers. Don't ever try to take the piss from anybody on this forum again. We are only here to help & don't take kindly to having the weewee taken by the likes of you.

Winkle.
