Here are some of the major differneces between the MIII and MKIV you will see in the MINI.
- Uses a DVD-based map disk for an entire continent
- The map scrolls underneath the car position icon (i.e. the position icon always stays centered on the screen)
- Very fast—no speed perception issues at all
- Graphic improvements over the MKIIII: roads are better with more colors, effective resolution is higher, all destination and Point of Interest Icons are better, etc.
- Easier to read screen colors with better contrast
- 3-D Perspective view is available
- More routing options
- Much improved Point of Interest database that integrates with telephone/Bluetooth for direct dialing
- Able to store three language choices instead of only two choices as in the previous versions
- “Accept” screen automatically goes away after 8 seconds when coded in US mode (Accept screen can be disabled when coded in ECE mode)
