you will need a 16:9 tv tuner and the 16:9 screen, nav computer can just replace your old one.

You can change your screen, change your nav computer, or change both. All of these combinations will work. TV is optional. If you already have TV it will work, although maybe only in 4:3 aspect ratio.
Taken your present configuration the 16:9 screen head unit is plug and play. You just remove your current unit and insert the new one in its place. Connections are exactly the same. Same goes for the navigation computer. Just exchange your MK-III for a Mk-IV. Same conections, same rack. Should work right away. You may want to re-code your new nav computer to your car VIN. It is not necessary but it is a neat thing to do. You can do it yourself if you've got a laptop and a iBus to Serial interface. Good luck |

If your TV tuner is a 4:3 type only then you will most likely find that the Nav display will operate in 4:3 mode.

Now that I think about it I don't know why I took it for granted you had a Mk-III navigation computer. If that is the case then all said above applies.
The Mk-II nav computer had a separate GPS unit, which later series III and IV integrate in their housing. Thus, if you have a Mk-II some additional messing is required with the GPS antenna lead. It is no big deal though, and there is a do-it-yourself tutorial out there for just this case. |

Select "Set" or "SettingS" in the main menu. Once in the setting menu the nav unit and software version is displayed in the upper right corner of the screen. Something like 3-1-63 or 2-2-XX. The first figure indicates the unit Mk number. The second figure tells whether it is color or monocrome and the last figure is the current firmware revision.
