Exclamation Updating NAV MAP DVD to recent year(s)..worth it..?

So my car has a 2003 MAP DVD, as it is a 2003 MY.

Other than the obvious (new streets, etc) is there any other benefit in buying the 2005, 2006,or 2007 MAP DVD..? i read somewhere that POI icons show, and other stuff with the newer MAP DVDs. Is that true..?

Yes, it is probably worth it-- get a 2005 or newer disk. The reason is that Navteq dramatically increased the street level detail on the disks around the 2004/2005 timeframe. Navteq completed a major map data project and released street-level data for most of the country. Prior to 2005, they had detail coverage of major cities, but coverage was pretty spotty in more rural areas.
