Wiring A DVD Player

I have an 04 X5 and would like to know what is the best way to wire a DVD player. Should I wire directly to the Battery or should I wire to the fuse box. I would like to wire to the fuse box but do not know where to start !! Any advice please.

Depending on where you put it, I would wire it to the fuse box on a switch circuit so it will power on/off automatically. There are two or three spare fuse locations (depending on your options) and one or more of them is switched. A $2 12v test light will tell you which ones are hot with the key on, and cold with the key off if you don't have a fuse curcuit diagram. I wired mine to an empty switched fuse location in the glove box, it was a 5-minute job. In my case I just crimped a spade connector on the 12v+ wire from the DVD and plugged it in like a fuse. Good luck!
