Classic symptoms of using an ISO Mode 1 disk in a MK III.

First job is to get the CD out, try pressing and holding the eject button for a long time, that sometimes works. If that fails (after maybe 10 minutes holding the button) try pressing it rapidly for about 1 minute.

Next job is to get an ISO Mode 2 firmware disk, the current firmware may have been wiped.
